A Little Inspiration

The Great British Sewing Bee--- I am in love!

On Tuesday nights there is my new favourite programme. I have loved sewing for as long as I can remember; my great grandma taught me to knit so I knitted a bright and colourful scarf (as all young girls wish to have in their wardrobe). For my friend for Christmas this year I decided it would be a great idea to knit a hat...without a pattern so HELLO HOLES!! Heck, I loved the home-made look!! She hasn't worn it yet, should I be worried? Hmm...maybe it was the choice of colour, it did look like she had just been knitted a Weasley Griffindor hat...

My Nan showed me how to cut my first pattern which, of course, I have no idea how to replicate, so I feel a bit like I am back to square one. I am determined to make a dress and make it fit me like a glove and look kick ass!

One thing I have been more than proud of was a corset and skirt I made for a recent show. I decided I loved it so much that I wore it to the after party and quickly ruined it with the spilling of alcohol. Whoops.

However, that was the past. Now I am starting something new and, I hope, therapeutic! I have started to alter clothes. Today I made a black T-shirt dress fit a size 8/10, re-altered the back and added blue lace- how risque. In doing this, I have decided to spruce up my sisters old boring wardrobe and make it fun and add a bit of "Charlie Sparkle". Let the fun, love of clothing and angry bird in me begin.

P.S. My new dream--- I want to be on Great British Sewing Bee...just sayin.
