"When I first moved to England the one thing I found really strange was how people greet each other with; Hey, you alright?--- that's so odd, you are the only place I know that do that"
And as I was walking back from a very pissed off appointment which was cancelled and I wasn't told about and they decided to change it to a date I told them I couldn't do and on top of that I wasted money getting to said appointment AND I had to get up early....yep safe to say I wasn't a happy bunny, but when I was asked by a random person on the street "You alright?" My reply? "Morning, yer good thanks, you?"
WHAT?!?!?
I am very clearly in a bad mood and yet I STILL reply "good thanks, you?" WHAAATTTT?!?!
Such a strange society that we feel like we have to say "good thanks, you?" out of politeness because who wants to hear "Oh bloody hell, worst morning ever....." and going off on a rant, I certainly would feel like replying with "oh, umm ok, I was just being polite...." So if someone could please tell me why we have to ask "How are you?" and reply with "Good thanks" I would be most grateful for an answer!!
Peace and love fellow bloggers
